If you can't buy your dream car, get it made. That was clearly the strategy of rich German car parts magnate Michael Stoschek, a fan of Lancia's legendary 1972 Stratos who fancied an updated version.
The project to modernise one of the Italian manufacturer's most iconic models was actually begun by designer Chris Hrabalek, like Stoschek a collector of the original cars, who created a prototype known as the Fenomenon Stratos five years ago. Inspired by this project, Stoschek commissioned Italian car design specialists Pininfarina to develop the car that you see here, which had been officially unveiled at the end of November in the south of France recently.
